SIGNIFICANT WEATHER EVENT IN EFFECT

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

January 25, 2026

Due to the significant snowfall and worsening travel conditions, Cramahe Township is declaring a Significant Weather Event.

Under the Municipal Act, 2001 (Regulation 239/02 – Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways), a municipality may declare a Significant Weather Event when severe weather conditions make it unreasonable to meet normal winter maintenance response times.

Plowing Priorities
Public Works crews will focus first on emergency routes and high-traffic roads, followed by collector roads and bus routes, and finally residential streets as conditions permit.

⚠️ Avoid Unnecessary Travel
For the safety of all, please avoid travel on roads and sidewalks unless necessary. Plan ahead and allow extra time for travel.

Further notice will be provided once the Significant Weather Event has been lifted.

Snow Event – Parking Restrictions
To keep roads clear and allow crews to maintain safe travel routes, parking is not permitted on any streets within the Township during the Snow Event.

Thank you for your cooperation. Please stay safe and take care while this weather event continues.
