Community Health Centres of Northumberland receives $913,000 in new Interprofessional Primary Care Team funding
April 27, 2026
Port Hope, Ontario — The Community Health Centres of Northumberland is pleased to welcome today’s announcement of new interprofessional Primary Care Team (IPCT) funding that will expand access to primary care services across Northumberland County.
Through this investment, CHCN has been allocated $913,000 to strengthen primary care attachment through the Rural Outreach Clinic in Colborne. This funding will support clinic expansion, recruitment of new healthcare professionals, and increased capacity to connect residents to ongoing primary care services.
As part of this initiative, approximately 2,275 residents who do not currently have a primary care provider will be attached to care by May 1, 2027.
Today’s announcement reflects the strength of collaboration between the Ontario Health Team of Northumberland partners, government leaders, and local healthcare organizations committed to improving access to care close to home.
We extend our gratitude to the Province of Ontario, MPP David Piccini, Ontario Health, and all regional partners for supporting innovative rural healthcare solutions that meet the needs of our growing communities. •
