Your Vote. Your Voice. Your Privacy.

Cramahe, ON – October 7, 2026 – As the 2026 Municipal and School Board Election approaches, the Township of Cramahe is reminding eligible voters of the importance of protecting the secrecy and privacy of their vote.

The voting period will take place from Friday, October 16 at 9:00 a.m. until Monday, October 26 at 8:00 p.m. During this time, residents may cast their ballot securely by internet or telephone from virtually anywhere.

Under Ontario's Municipal Elections Act, 1996, every elector has the right to vote freely and in secret. No individual may interfere with a voter while they are casting their ballot or attempt to determine how they intend to vote or how they have voted.

The Township encourages all voters to take a few simple steps to protect the integrity of their vote:

  • Vote in private. Choose a quiet location where you can cast your ballot without interruption or influence.
  • Protect your Voting PIN. Keep your Voter Information Letter and PIN in a secure location and do not share it with anyone.
  • Never give your vote to someone else. If you choose not to vote, securely destroy your PIN. Providing your PIN to another person so they can vote on your behalf is prohibited.
  • Do not allow anyone to influence your vote. Candidates and campaign supporters must not interfere with electors while they are voting or provide electronic devices for the purpose of casting a ballot.
  • Keep your voting choices private. You are under no obligation to tell anyone how you voted.
