The Township's election uses a secure Telephone/Internet Voting system. When voting, the system will identify your selections and give you the opportunity to change or confirm your choices before your vote is submitted. You may also decline to vote for an office if you choose.

Voting by Telephone

You can vote from anywhere using a touch-tone telephone and the telephone number provided in your Voter Instruction Letter. 

Voting by Internet

You can vote from anywhere online using the internet address provided in your Voter Instruction Letter. The system can be accessed using a dial-up modem or high-speed internet connection.

Your Voter Information Letter

Your Voter Information Letter (VIL) will be mailed 7–10 business days before voting opens (October 16–26, 2026).

Your VIL includes:

• Your unique Personal Identification Number (PIN)
• Voting website and telephone number
• Instructions on how to vote
• Voting dates and hours
• Voter Help Centre information
• Certified candidate names

Keep your VIL safe. Your PIN is private and can only be used once to cast your vote. Do not share your PIN with anyone.

Did You Not Receive Your VIL?

If you do not receive your VIL, lose it, or no longer have access to it, visit the Municipal Office during regular business hours or attend a Voter Help Centre.

With valid identification and completion of the required oath, an election official can verify your information and issue a replacement VIL with a new PIN. Your previous PIN will be disabled.

PINs cannot be provided by telephone or mail without approval from the Municipal Clerk. Identification is required before a replacement VIL can be issued.

If Your PIN Has Already Been Used

If you are unable to vote because your PIN has already been used, please visit the Municipal Office or a Voter Help Centre with identification. An election official will review the situation and determine the appropriate next steps.

Voter Help Centres provide in-person assistance with the online and telephone voting process, election inquiries, and voters’ list updates.

Voting kiosks will be available for electors who require assistance or do not have access to the necessary technology to cast their vote. Please note that paper ballots will not be available.

The Township’s Voter Help Centres are accessible to all electors and are available to provide assistance throughout the voting period and on Voting Day.

Electors who require assistance may attend a Voter Help Centre with a support person. If a support person is not available, assistance may be provided by an election official after the required oath has been taken, where applicable.

Electors may also attend with an interpreter to assist with the voting process after the appropriate oral oath has been completed.

Election officials will be available to support electors and help ensure everyone can participate in the election process.
