Paying your taxes

You can pay your municipal property taxes a number of ways:

  • Through most financial institutions or by using internet banking services.  Please allow 3 business days to process payment. 
  • For a Pre-Authorized Payment plan, (monthly or due date method), please contact the tax department for details. 
  • Payments by cheque (postdated cheques are accepted) can be made payable to "Township of Cramahe" Please write your roll number on all cheques, this number appears on the upper portion of your tax bill.  They can be mailed or dropped off into our drop box at the top of the stairs on the left hand side of the front door.
  • Pay your taxes by credit card

Payments received after the due date will result in additional interest fees of 1.25% per month.

Property tax payments can be made at your local financial institution. Please remember to bring your property tax bill to the bank with you or have your roll number with you.

Important Note: Payments should be made at least 3 business days before the property tax due date.

Property taxes can be paid at the Township Office, during regular business hours.

We accept the following methods of payment:

  • Cash
  • Debit
  • Cheque
  • Post-dated cheque: please note the roll number on your cheque, this number appears on the upper portion of your tax bill.

Important Note: If you are unable to visit during regular business hours, payment can be dropped into the secure drop box located at the main entrance of the Township Office.

Important Note: Please include your bill stub or write your roll number on your cheque.

The Township of Cramahe is pleased to offer a payment option for residents interested in paying their property taxes by credit card. Paymentus Corporation, an independent third-party automated payment service accepts VISA and MasterCard.  Payments will be charged a rate of 2.75% on the total amount paid. This fee covers payment handling and processing charges. Example $500.00 + (2.75% fee of $13.75 = $513.75). You will need your 19 digit tax roll number which is found on your tax bill.

If you would prefer to pay via telephone, you can call 1-866-788-2818, and follow the automated  instructions.  Please note, a 2.75% fee will apply.

What is pre-Authorized tax payment?

Monthly Payment Plan:
Our pre-authorized debit plan allows your tax payments to be made automatically from your bank account, on the 15th day of each month and credited toward your tax account. You make 10 EQUAL MONTHLY PAYMENTS beginning February 15th; and the 10th payment on November 15th will complete your payment for
the balance of the taxation year. Please note, the system will automatically recalculate your payment amount prior to your final bill being sent out. The new amount will begin once final bills are processed.


Due Date Method:
You may wish to opt for the Due Date Method, which allows for the actual tax installments to be debited from your bank account on the tax due dates and credited to your tax account.

How can you join?
1. Make sure your taxes are paid in full
2. Complete and sign this enrollment/authorized form
3. Attach your personal blank cheque marked “VOID”
4. Deliver/mail this form and voided cheque to our Municipal Office or
5. Email this form & your banking information to taxation@cramahe.ca

Changing your Banking Information

If you are enrolled in our pre-authorized payments and require a change to your banking information, or you wish to cancel this method please email taxation@cramahe.ca.

Please Note: Account changes must be accompanied with a void cheque or banking deposit form.
