Community Profile
Founded by Vermont Empire Loyalists in 1792, Cramahe is located in the heart of apple country and enjoys a rural setting in the Northumberland Hills along the north shore of Lake Ontario.
Our community is characterized by strong roots, a solid work ethic, and a love for rural living and small-town values. We invite you to explore our largest community, the picturesque Village of Colborne, which features a unique main square established in the original village plan from the late 1790s. Colborne's main street has even been highlighted in Ron Brown's "Downtown Ontario: Unusual Main Streets to Explore."
Just ten minutes north lies the charming hamlet of Castleton, home to one of Canada’s longest-running general stores and a popular summer ice cream destination. Further north, you'll discover one of the last remnants of tall grass prairie in Ontario at both Red Cloud Cemetery and the Goodrich-Loomis Conservation Area.
With stunning scenery, an excellent quality of life, quick access to Toronto via Highway 401, and welcoming, passionate residents, I encourage you to visit Cramahe Township and see for yourself why we love living, working, and playing here.
