Throughout the year, there are times that residents are prohibited from overnight parking on the streets in town as per the Township of Cramahe Traffic By-law 07-31. Any person who contravenes any provision of this by-law is guilty of an offence and on conviction is liable to a fine as provided for in the Provincial Offences Act, and all such penalties shall be recoverable under the Provincial Offences Act, and all the provisions of the Provincial Offences Act shall apply hereto.
Winter Parking
To assist the roads staff in effectively clearing the streets during winter months, overnight on-street parking restrictions are in effect from November 1, 2021 until April 15, 2022 of the following year. There is NO PARKING on any street between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. Interference with the maintenance of the Township's streets or removal of snow may cause your vehicle to be towed and impounded at the expense/responsibility of the vehicle owner.
Street Sweeping
In addition to the winter parking restrictions, the Operations department will conduct annual Spring Street Sweeping to clean all Cramahe Township streets of sand deposited from winter and other debris. Spring Street Sweeping improves water quality and the environment by removing pollutants that can be transferred to downstream water bodies through urban runoff through the storm sewer system. Street Sweeping also improves the cleanliness and aesthetics of the Cramahe Township streets and parking lots. Sweeping usually starts end of April / early May and takes approximately 10 weeks to complete, weather permitting. Notice will be given prior to street sweeping taking place.
